About
me
Name: Tim Jenkins
Age: 24
Live: Bristol, England, UK
Hi im Tim. As you might have guessed thats me on the right. Im originally from Risca which is a small town to the north of Newport on the edge of the South Wales Valleys. After spending most my life in Cardiff I have now moved over the bridge to England to start a new job in Bristol. I have one sister Sarah who has graduated from Reading University with a 1st class degree in Teaching/Geography in 2000. She now teaches in a primary school in Reading. I graduated from Swansea University. With a pass in Computer science. Not really what I was looking for but hey at least im not like Awkward (One of my flatmates from my last year of uni) and just wasted my three years and ended up not get anything. I enjoy computer games, playing badminton (even though I haven't for a while), watching motor sport, socialising and watching Wales play Rugby. I have been to the millennium stadium 5 times to watch them play. I have also been to the stadium for a number of other events (See List) a total of 16 times now. One of the best has to be when I saw Wales beat Germany 1 - 0. What a night and what a debut for Earnshaw but this was definitely topped by Wales beating Italy 2 - 1. A night I think none of us there will ever forget.
I virtually like any kind of music. One of my favourite bands is the
Manic street preachers I have seen
them play three times, once in Cardiff's millennium
Stadium and have also seen them twice in Cardiff's CIA. The millennium
stadium gig was for the new year of 2000 and was a cool night just
a Pity about the bar service though. The queues were so long I didn't
have a drink all the time I was in there. One of the best moments of that
night had to be when they played stay beautiful singing along to that
with 50,000 others really makes a good song. I even managed to get myself
on the video just as the gig goes out live on the BBC and the notes of
A design for life start. If you have the video and want to try spotting
me Im the one waving a welsh millennium flag and holding it backwards.
(DOH!!!). Both the CIA gigs were better as they played a lot of the songs
off the older Albums especially at the greatest hits gig in December 2002.
I have also seen the Stereophonics
in the millennium stadium twice. The
first time they were supported by Ash,
In this gig Both the phonics and Ash were amazing. The 2nd time I saw
them there in December 2003 they were supported by Feeder.
This gig Feeder rocked and in my opinion next year they should headline
the stadium themselves the phonics were a little disappointing at this
gig whether it was due to them having a different drummer after firing
Stuart Cable or whether just the new material from You Got to go there
to come back didn't work properly or a mixture of both im not sure but
it just wasn't the same as the previous gig. The crowd just didn't seem
to be getting into it like they did the last time. I've also seen Greenday
play at coopers field in Cardiff I would say this was probably the best
gig I've been too. Support by 'A', Hundred Reason, Spunge
and Iggy pop all of who were also good apart from iggy but greenday just
blew the crowd away totally and made it a night for everyone there to
remember. I have also seen Madness at Cardiffs CIA. This was a pretty
good gig with everyone going mad when the well known songs were played
but the crowd were a bit quiet when songs they didn't know were being
played. I have also seen Evanescence at the CIA
I have now seen Hundred Reasons 3 times once when they were supporting Green Day,
once in Cardiff Uni which was a brilliant gig apart from the fact I lost my Phone,
and once in the Bristol Academy (09/03/04) this was a brilliant gig and with such a small venue the crowd really got going.
Another gig I went to at the Carling Academy was Reel Big Fish supported by
Goldfinger (10/03/04).
Once again the bands really got the crowd involved especially Reel Big Fish a brilliant gig
and I will definetlly go to see them again if I get the chance. Thats one thing you can say about small venues
everyone can see the stage and feels close and with the right bands they can interact with the crowd a lot
better than at the big Stadium gigs I have been too.
I also saw the Red Hot chilli Peppers in The millenium stadium. This was the best gig I have ever been too.
The Chillis are absouloutly amazing and anyone who ever gets the chance to see them live I'd recommend it. They just get the whole
crowd going and have an amazing stage presence.
The next gig I am off to will be Reading Festival. My first time at a festival hopefully it'll be good.
I used to goto Cantonian High school which is in Fairwater in Cardiff this is where I did my GCSE's after that I went to Coleg Glan Hafren to do a BTEC in Information Technology Applications. If any of you out there know me from any of these places then E-mail me to say Hi I would like to get back in touch. In the summer of 99 I worked for BT customer focused billing team which is based in Stadium House in Cardiff. Here I helped create their intranet site. I did a bit more work for them in the summer of 2000 as well. After being unemployed for over eight months I did some temporary work for a company called Peter Evans and Associates here in Cardiff. After this I went back on Job seekers and carried out voluntary work with CSV in Cardiff as part of the new deal scheme. After doing some temporary work through Acorn I am now working in Bristol for a small company called Health International as a Delphi support programmer. Finally doing some computing work and hopefully making use of the things I spend 3 years in university learning..
Im currently going out with my lovely girlfriend Christina who I have been going out with now since September 02 and hope to be with for a lot longer to come yet.
In case anyone out there doesn't realise I am not English I am Welsh and proud of that fact and any of you English people out there I don't what any sheep jokes.
